Stanza transcribes your voice on your own computer. Your dictated words and audio never leave your PC in normal use — and our servers are built to discard dictation content by design, so this is enforced, not just promised. The app sends us usage metrics (word counts, durations, app version, device type) so we can run the product. Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy; we never see your card. The only time content leaves your machine is when you explicitly click “report bad transcription” on a specific clip.
Stanza (“we”, “us”) is a product of ALC Group. This policy covers the Stanza desktop application for Windows and this website. Questions or requests: alcgroupltda@gmail.com.
Speech-to-text runs entirely on your computer, using a local AI model. Your dictations are saved as plain Markdown files and audio clips on your own disk. We have no access to those files: we cannot read them, restore them, or hand them to anyone — they exist only on your machine.
To operate, improve, and support Stanza, the app reports usage metrics to our servers:
These metrics are linked to your license key or a device identifier so the service works (for example, tracking your free-word balance). They contain none of your dictated content.
In normal use, your dictated text and your audio never leave your PC. This is structural, not a promise: our ingestion servers discard dictation content by design, so a normal dictation could not be stored on our side even if it were ever transmitted.
If a transcription comes out wrong, you can choose to report it. Only then, that one specific clip and its text are sent to us — because you clicked. We use it solely to investigate and improve transcription quality, keep it only as long as needed for that purpose, and never use it for anything else. If you never click, no content is ever shared.
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects your payment details (card number, billing address) under its own privacy policy — we never see or store your card information. We receive your email address and license information so we can deliver and support your purchase.
This website is a static site and sets no tracking cookies by default. When we run advertising campaigns, we may enable the Meta (Facebook) Pixel on the website only — never inside the app — to measure whether our ads work (page views, checkout starts, purchases). The pixel uses standard cookies which you can block with your browser settings or extensions; the site works fully without them. This section will always reflect the current state of the site.
Usage metrics are kept while your license is active, plus a reasonable period for accounting and abuse prevention. You can ask us to delete the data linked to your license at any time by writing to alcgroupltda@gmail.com — deleting your account data never touches your local files, which were always only yours.
Wherever you live, we honor requests to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you (your email and license-linked metrics). One email is enough: alcgroupltda@gmail.com. We respond to every request from a human, not a bot.
Stanza is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
If we change this policy, we update this page and the date at the top. Material changes to what we collect will also be announced in the app’s release notes.
