Windows 10/11 · ~1 GB disk · microphone · NVIDIA GPU optional
Install Stanza, put your cursor in any text field, press Ctrl + Alt + J, talk, press it again. Your words appear at the cursor about a second later. Everything else on this page is detail.
Download Stanza for Windows and run the installer. You’ll need Windows 10 or 11, about 1 GB of free disk space (the speech model lives on your machine — that’s the whole point), and a microphone. An NVIDIA GPU makes transcription nearly instant (≈1 second); without one, Stanza uses your CPU and takes a few seconds per dictation.
The first launch loads the speech model. After that, Stanza waits quietly in the background — no window to keep open.
Your free allowance is 2,000 dictated words — lifetime, no clock, no weekly reset. No credit card needed to start.
When you subscribe, Lemon Squeezy emails you a license key within a minute or two. Open Stanza and paste the key when asked (the same field appears in the window that shows up when your free words run out). One key activates up to 2 of your own devices. Didn’t get the email? Check spam, then write to alcgroupltda@gmail.com.
If a transcription comes out wrong, open your history window and click “report bad transcription” on that clip. That sends us the one clip you chose — and nothing else, ever — so we can fix it. Details in the Privacy Policy.
Close and reopen Stanza (it restarts in seconds — the model is cached). If another app grabbed the shortcut, restarting Stanza re-registers it. Still stuck? Email us with the app version from Settings.
On PCs without an NVIDIA GPU, Stanza runs on the CPU — private and accurate, but a few seconds per dictation instead of ≈1. Long dictations take proportionally longer to process. If you have an NVIDIA GPU and it still feels slow, check that your GPU drivers are up to date.
Keys activate on up to 2 devices. If you switched computers, deactivate the old one in Stanza’s settings, or check your subscription status in the customer portal. Copy-paste the key exactly as it appears in the email — no spaces.
As dated Markdown files and audio clips in your Stanza folder, on your own disk. Open the history window to browse and search them, or open the files directly — they are plain text, yours to back up, sync, or delete.
Yes — transcription is fully local and needs zero connectivity. Internet is only used for license activation and (if you allow it) sending usage metrics.
One click in the customer portal (also linked in your receipt email). You keep access until the end of the paid period, and your local files are never touched.
